FAQ

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled session time. This gives you time to settle in, change if necessary, and discuss any ideas with the photographer.

Should I arrive ready for my photoshoot?

Yes, we recommend arriving with hair and makeup already completed unless you have booked a professional hair and makeup service. This allows us to maximise your studio time and capture as many images as possible.

What should I wear to my dance photography session?

Wear clothing that allows you to move comfortably and confidently. Dance costumes, leotards, tutus, contemporary dancewear, uniforms, or fitted activewear all photograph beautifully.

Can I bring multiple outfits?

For our 15-minute mini sessions, we recommend arriving in your chosen outfit as there won't be enough time for outfit changes during the shoot.

If you have booked a full one-hour dance photography session, you're welcome to bring multiple outfits, costumes, and accessories. This allows us to create a wider variety of images and showcase different styles throughout your session.

What footwear should I bring?

Bring any footwear that forms part of your dance style, such as ballet shoes, pointe shoes, jazz shoes, character shoes, trainers, or bare feet if appropriate. Please ensure footwear is clean before entering the studio.

Can parents stay during the session?

Yes. Parents or guardians must remain on-site throughout sessions involving children under 18. Parents are welcome to observe and support younger dancers during the shoot.

Do I need dance experience?

Not at all. We welcome everyone from complete beginners to professional dancers. Our photographers will guide you through poses and movements suitable for your ability level.

What if I am nervous in front of the camera?

Many clients feel nervous before their session. We will guide you through the entire process, help with posing, and create a relaxed environment so you can enjoy the experience.

Can I bring inspiration photos?

Yes. We encourage you to share inspiration images, mood boards, or examples of poses and styles you like. This helps us understand your vision for the session.

Is the studio suitable for children?

Yes. Our studio is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for dancers of all ages. Children must remain supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

What should I bring with me?

We recommend bringing:

* Dance costumes and outfit changes

* Dance shoes

* Water bottle

* Hairbrush and makeup touch-up items

Can I perform jumps, leaps, and advanced dance moves?

Yes, provided you are comfortable and capable of performing them safely. We will never ask you to perform movements beyond your ability and may adjust poses based on the available studio space and safety considerations.

What happens if I am injured or unwell?

If you are unable to attend your session due to injury or illness, please contact us as soon as possible.

Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice are eligible for a refund or rescheduling. Unfortunately, cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are non-refundable, as your appointment time has been reserved exclusively for you and we are unlikely to be able to fill the slot at short notice.

If you have any concerns before your session, please get in touch and we will do our best to help.

When will I see my photographs?

After your session, your images will be professionally edited. We will contact you when your gallery is ready to view, usually within 1-3 days depending on which package you booked..

Can the images be used on social media?

Yes. Once your final images have been delivered, you are welcome to share them unless otherwise agreed. We love seeing our clients' photographs online and appreciate being tagged where possible.

Can I book one session for more than one child?

To ensure every child gets their own dedicated moment in the spotlight, we require a separate, individual session to be booked for each child.

If you would like sibling or group shots alongside their individual portraits, please book back-to-back sessions. This ensures we have enough time to capture everything perfectly without rushing. When booking, just pop a note in the message section to let us know you’ve booked consecutive slots for group photos!

What if I have accessibility requirements or special requests?

Please let us know before your session. We will do our best to accommodate individual requirements and ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Should I bring warm clothing?

Yes. Depending on the time of year, the studio can feel cooler, particularly when you're waiting between shots or outfit changes. We recommend bringing a warm jumper, hoodie, tracksuit, dressing gown, or other comfortable layers to wear when you're not being photographed.

This is especially important if you're wearing dance costumes, leotards, or other lightweight performance clothing. Keeping warm between shots will help you stay comfortable and perform at your best during the session.

Can siblings, friends or family members attend the photoshoot?

We recommend that no more than two people accompany the dancer or model to the studio. We have a designated waiting area for parents, guardians and guests.

To help the dancer feel comfortable and to allow our photographers to capture the best possible images, we often recommend keeping spectators to a minimum. Too many people in the studio can sometimes be distracting, particularly for younger children.

Remember, this shoot is for your child to enjoy—it's their moment to shine, and we want all the focus to be on them!
